About Me

My photo
Adesola
I am Programme Leader and an advisor on the BA Professional Practice ACI and the Co-programme Leader for MA Professional Practice programmes at Middlesex University. These are Work Based Learning/ Distance Education programmes for establishing and established practitioners from across the creative and cultural sectors at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. They are about 'Critical Thinking'- coming from the view that making art is critical thinking as much as writing and reading are. My professional career has ranged across work as a dancer and choreographer, I consider myself an artist-scholar. I have run own professional dance company and arts foundation, as well as working as director of dance schools in UK and USA. My academic career has included lecturing in Universities in North America and UK in sociology, movement theory, and dance. My current research is focused on embodiment, sociology of the body and developments in qualitative research methods. I am a member of the Royal Society for the encouragement of the Arts, Manufactures & Commerce (RSA).
