Module two focus - assumptions

We had a discussion today with a Module Two focus thinking about designing inquiry projects.
We talked about the useful role of 'assumption' - that is looking at what you are interested in or thinking about and asking yourself what assumptions you are making. Then having a look at the assumption rather than the question.

We talked about how important it is remember Module Two is about designing an inquiry (not doing the inquiry). Keep going back to the inquiry template (the areas you need to address in the final proposal) and ask yourself how what you are doing informs different areas of that. Rather than be seduced into 'answering a question'.!!

When designing the inquiry design something that allows you to have answers you don't expect.

Use the literature and other peoples artwork to help you find nuances that lead to ethical considerations.

Leave time to do your MORE form once you feel you have a grip on the topic and draft shape of the inquiry.

Voice

Programme Voice Groups: the next PVG meeting is at the end of February
Your current Student Voice Leader is Stella Eldon - thank you Stella. This is really important part of the University process for assessing programmes and supporting us deliver the best possible most transformative learning experience we can.
The Programme Voice Groups (PVG’s) are one of the main formal channels of communication between staff and students. They are a forum in which students (through the Student Voice Leaders) and staff can constructively discuss areas of good practice as well as areas needing improvement, with the collective aim of enhancing the student experience.
Please go to Unihub to get Stella's detail to connect her with any feedback - we will also have some time to discuss without Helen and I at the end of the up-coming Skype sessions.
Background for the future: Each September or January we ask two people to volunteer for this role. Please consider if you would like to take the role and let Programme Leaders (Adesola or Helen know of your interest). We have our Student Voice meeting each February part of the role requires you attending these meetings.
