I have seen the truth in this article in my own students. I am curious though, as to why large training institutions in the world ex. Royal Winnipeg Ballet School Professional Division (I live in Canada) have other belief?
Thank you for the article! Really helpful when coaching students that need to increase their strength and are afraid of bulking up. As stated in the article, "strength gains are not just the result of increases in muscle size."
Interesting read. I have always been inclined to think that like technique and artistry, strength develops on a case by case basis and is completely individual and dependent on physique. It’s great to hear new ideas and concepts about how strength is gained and the differentiation’s.
Interesting article. I have just yesterday seen a performance of cirque du Soleil, while the performers and the technical aspects were of course amazing, I couldn't help myself, thinking of how strength was represented during the whole show (many stereotypes). Which made me think about not just how strength is build up, in daily training, but also how it is represented in society and how this influences, what "kind of" strength people might want to build up.
