Literature reviews

A Literature Review - reviews the literature. It is like standing in the library and saying "these shelves are books and journals on aspects of xxxx", "these shelves are by people who have xxx perspective". It is not about one or two books. A Literature Review overviews what is out there and gives you a context for where you stand. It then helps you with how you analyse.

Listening

Module Ones - As you have been thinking about RPL (areas of learning essays) it seems like ti would be time to talk to your Advisor about your ideas before you start writing one.

Thinking about research methods - this video gives a sense of the privilege it is to have people talk to us about their ideas. As you design your inquiry in Module Two or as you are carry out Module Three be reflective. They are not there to answer your questions, you are there to witness and respect their experiences. Then analysis the experience to better inform your own questions.

Sorting information and aiming Knowledge

Thinking about information, learning and knowledge: I am considering why people get so up-set when they don't feel things are clear straight away. A 'Google' expectation that if you ask you should get 'the answer'. If the answer doesn't make sense then there is something wrong with the the 'thing' /person giving you the answer and you have to draw attention to the issue. This is a new phenomena, I think, of expecting information to be knowledge. It involves by-passing any uncomfortable feeling of 'not knowing' - outsourcing the sorting of ideas to the thing or person you are asking...
