ReplyDeletePlease remember that the group chats are about speaking to each other. You are directing the conversations you would like to have with each other not to me or Helen. We are trying to move away from you having a sense of being given permission to think.

ReplyDeleteI will be joining the 5pm group chat. I am currently working on data collection. I am thinking of the qualitative nature of my data. So much of my data feels like personal reflection, as I take notes and conduct interviews. There are some interesting themes emerging, including the idea of instructors belonging to a lineage of values / ideas / attitudes toward teaching. Also, a strong link between instructor approach to life (being human) and how this is reflected in their approach to teaching. I am in Module 3 and am studying five different instructors and how they motivate pre and professional contemporary dancers.
Looking forward to the discussion.

Hi all i would like to join the 5pm chat. I am on module 3 looking at dancers inner voices and the impact their internal conversations have on their movement. I have to be honest in that i do not have a question yet and keep putting off sending this in because of that but i would like to be part of the conversation and hopefully before Sunday will be able to clear a pathway to a line of thought that i would like to discuss.

The government is very much calling subjects hard and soft and looking at getting rid of soft subjects from the school curriculum. How do you feel about this? Thanks.

I am beginning to feel overwhelmed by the amount of information I am dealing with (data from interviews/ workshops I'm giving but also my own observations and reflections from day to day work, from literature and other artefacts). I am wondering how other people are handling this especially how they go about drawing links between different information sources and keeping track of important ideas. I think this would apply across modules. Looking forward to it! sam
